We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff was exceptional friendly, professional, welcoming and always willing to help, making us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The hotel itself was excellent, offering a pleasant atmosphere, located in the heart of Venice, just a few steps from Piazza San Marco, overlooking a canal where gondolas glide by. Housed in a 17th-century building with a private courtyard, the hotel combines an elegant atmosphere with antique furniture and modern amenities. The cleanliness throughout the hotel was were spotless, well-maintained and carefully looked after.

Fantastic hotel in the tourist heart of Venice. Great views of the canals and generously sized rooms. Breakfast included and was a great spread. Good air conditioning and mini bar available. Close to the heart of S Marco but far enough out of the way to avoid crowds and noise.

The staff is very helpful. If you need something they are very accommodating. The location is great. It is close to all the shopping. They have a dock right outside the hotel that can bring you by private transfer ($$$). Another option is the "bus taxi" where you bring your luggage on and you get off at San Marco Vallossa. Its a 5 min walk. If I can do it, anyone can! The breakfast is ok. Downside for travellers. The hotel needs to update the rooms and repaint. No elevator. 2nd floor = 4 flights of stairs but they have someone that will bring your luggage up to your room and back down. It is a very busy dock and used for bringing supplies to all the businesses nearby in the morning- very noisy. But All the waterways are noisy, Welcome to Venice!!

Ok stay - location is great for easy walking to a lot of sights, restaurants and shopping. However, private water taxis will not come to the hotel dock even though they say they will when you book (very irritating that they just aren’t upfront about this). Hotel desk clerk was extremely helpful directing us how where to walk (short distance) to find our taxi for airport transfer. Quadruple room was large and clean; tile floors; older bedspreads (one had cigarette burn in it). Bathroom tiny (typical European). Breakfast area was sufficiently large and had reasonable options though nothing “wowed”. Lots of stairs- looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed in a month and storing supplies under the stairwells gave an unsightly appearance. Overall would recommend to people who value a clean, functional stay but not to others who value appearance, ammenities or more modern facility.
