I was told that I would have a room on the same level as the reception area (I have bad knees so requested it in advance), but when I arrived, I was given a room with many steps at the very bottom of the hillside property. I was the only guest at the resort the whole time, so they moved me to a 5-bedroom villa at the top of the property. It sounded great, but it was infested with ants and I was literally sleeping in a bed with ands crawling in the bed. There was on guy working and he left at around 5 pm so there was nobody available to deal with the ants or cook. One night I am pretty sure the security guard made me some dinner. The staff was nice, but the resort is strange and outdated. Honestly, there was a bad feelIng at the property overall. Not sure what’s going on with it, but it is not relaxing even though it’s about 30 minutes from Ubud. Also, they told me they had special prices for tours and taxi services. Turns out their special prices are double what I can get on the Grab or Get Your Guide apps. I do not recommend this place.

I stayed in the Bamboo Villa. The room, pool and breakfast patio were even better in person. The hospitality at this villa is extraordinary! Astawa, the concierge, is warm, welcoming and beyond helpful. He helped me arrange drivers for day trips, provided suggestions for sightseeing, scheduled laundry service, and even helped me after I checked out to join a tour group at another hotel. While I was there, I had a massage that was wonderful and every staff member was very kind and helpful. Since it’s located in the jungle, there are some bugs, but it didn’t affect my stay. If you have limited mobility, be aware that there are several flights of stairs to get to the bamboo villa. I was sad to leave, but I’m excited to plan my next trip back!
