Helpful staff. Good location for the beautiful lake and hiking. Quiet and slept well. Easy walk or uber to town. But hotel rooms felt a bit run down. The beds, towels etc themselves were clean but the whole room wasn’t spotless. Rooms weren’t the kind of place I wanted to spend loads of time relaxing in. Breakfast was continental buffet - it was an ok variety/standard.

Original allocated room was okay but had a loud buzzing noise outside the door. Staff moved us to better room, shower didn’t have a screen or curtain and was too low for average height people. Ohlala. Don’t know where to start.. - Dirty rooms. Dust from months ago.. - terribly worn rooms generally, not maintained. - Toilet roll holder broken, toilet brush broken, shower head broken, toilet door broken(almost fell down) - shower floor cracked - black grime in the fix between tiles. - suspicious looking carpets. Wonder if they ever been cleaned properly. And so on… If you have no other place to go. This is your hotel. 110 euro a night is a joke. The positive things are that you can park just outside and staff is really nice and trying their best. They offered free coffee this morning which was really nice.

We booked a lake view room only to be told that it wasn’t available, BUT they upgraded us to a non-lake view larger room, Staff was helpful and kind. This could be a very nice hotel, but it needs a little bit of maintenance. Still, it was a great price for being right near the lake and we enjoyed our stay!

We loved being able to have a view of the Lake from our room. The check-in staff was so friendly and enthusiastic, great energy! We found the room a little small overall for something that was higher priced than normal, and it was tricky to move along the side of the bed on the window side, and although it was great that the bathroom was en-suite, it was so tiny and a bit too near the bed. The breakfast was fine, with a good range of items to choose from a self-serve counter, helped the day off to a good start.

A rocky start, but an absolutely wonderful recovery! Hôtel des Muses has a fantastic location directly across from beautiful Lake Annecy, in a peaceful area just a short walk from charming shops and restaurants. The secure gated parking is another excellent advantage. Our stay began with some disappointment: the annex room was dated, did not offer the promised partial lake view, and had maintenance issues, including nonfunctioning AC and plumbing problems. It was not what we expected from a superior room. Since we were staying for 2 more nights, after enjoying the nice breakfast buffet, we visited the front desk: the hotel team responded with genuine care and professionalism. Two wonderful staff members listened to our concerns and arranged an upgrade to a beautifully renovated room with a partial lake view and a lovely outdoor space, it completely transformed our experience. Although the hotel could benefit from minor improvements to outdoor maintenance, basic amenities, and older rooms, we truly enjoyed the remainder of our stay. We are especially grateful to the team for listening, taking action, and helping us enjoy our time in Annecy. Thank you for turning a disappointing beginning into a memorable and enjoyable stay. With a little more attention to detail, Hôtel des Muses could be truly exceptional!

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I was there to do the Annecy half marathon and i found the beds very comfortable which gave me a great night's sleep. The room was beautifully decorated and i had a view of the lake. I didn't have breakfast but it looked good but they did offer free coffee and hot chocolate. The receptionist was super friendly and kind.

Our biggest disappointment with Les Muses was when released we’d left medication at the hotel in their fridge. On telephoning there was a distinct lack of interest. With a response that none were there ( it didn’t seem long enough for anyone to really check the fridge ),I just got told they’d probably been thrown away! No apology! And I fail to understand we weren’t contacted when they realised we left them. My wife’s is prescribed but I myself pay for them and so am out of pocket by £300. Altogether not very satisfactory. We’d picked the hotel to use the restaurant opposite which is very good. Unfortunately we won’t be returning.

If you are looking for a hotel for the location only then this is the hotel. It was right on the lake front with bike, boat and pedalo rental within 50 meters. Unfortunately this is where the positives for this hotel stop. The hotel is very run down and in some areas, and in the rooms furnishings are dirty. We were directed to the building across from the main hotel and had to get in using a code. This didn't work most of the time and other times the gate was just left open . The front door to this building was broken leaving it insecure and we had a room on the second floor. The room, I would say is one of the worst I have stayed in. The floor was laminated boards which has all come up leaving gaps and holes. There was no headboard and the chair was very dirty. There were also no ceiling lights in the room. The only lighting were small laps and these were simply not enough. The room had a large window with a partial lake view however we couldn't have this open as there were alot of ants making there way into the room. The positives. Staff seemed nice, secure parking and location . This is where it ends

This hotel was excellent value, and we were glad to stay in this location so close to the lake and away from the busy crowds of the old town. There was an issue with the bathroom sink plug being stuck, but it was soon resolved and the English speaking receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The bathroom had a sliding door which didn't quite slide all the way so that needs attention, but otherwise everything wad good about the stay. The bed was comfortable, the location was quiet, and nd the breakfast was lovely.
