Bras d'Or Lakes Inn was a wonderful place to stay. We were there for a week (Sep 2026) and were very impressed by the friendly staff who went out of their way to make us feel at home. The restaurant served excellent dinners and some nights we also had live music - very enjoyable! It was a good location from which to explore various parts of Cape Breton Island. We highly recommend Bras d'Or Lakes Inn!

Would recommend Bras D'or Inn. Staff were friendly and helpful. The inn was well maintained and clean. Had a very small town, causal feel. Great place to stay while exploring the Richmond County area. A must go to is The Farmers Pantry cafe only 3 minute walk,

Front desk staff friendly and helpful, room was ok, HVAC unit fan noisy on A/C had to turn it off to sleep, otherwise it was a decent place to stay.

Our stay exceeded our expectations. Wendy the hotel manager is phenomenal. She went out of her way to make sure our stay was fabulous. As an added bonus the food and service at the restaurant was excellent. Definitely would stay here again and highly recommend to others they also stay and eat here.

A Birthday Stay to Remember! Our stay at Bras d’Or Lakes Inn was absolutely wonderful! We stayed first in a beautiful King Room, followed by the Lockmaster Quarters, which was truly spectacular. The room was beautiful, and the view of Bras d’Or Lake was breathtaking. When we arrived at the Lockmaster Quarters, we were so touched to find a bottle of champagne waiting for us, along with a beautiful birthday card signed by my family. Knowing that someone had personally gone out and purchased the card just for me made the gesture incredibly special. The strong winds made the hot tub a little cooler than expected, but it was still very manageable — and the view more than made up for it! Just before we left, we even had a beautiful deer visit us, which was the perfect goodbye. Everyone was wonderful, from check-in to the restaurant and throughout our stay. The warmth and personal touches truly made my 65th birthday celebration unforgettable. Their motto says it all: “Come as Guests, Stay as Friends, Return as Family.” We certainly will return as family! Thank you to everyone at Bras d’Or Lakes Inn for making turning 65 the best thing ever! ❤️
