A very well maintained period property. The stay was great and the friendly staff very accommodating, particularly as we used it as an overnight stop to cycle the White Peak Loop. They let us lock the bikes in an outhouse and totally understood our needs. Would recommend and may well return, next time with my wife for a treat!

A lovely place to stay and we were in a quirky ground floor room in the old stable block which was very nice although susceptible to noise from adjoining rooms. The grounds are lovely to relax in and the food was very good (although avoid the poor, undercooked apple pie). Good breakfast. Three minor criticisms. There was no sink plug, there was no shelf in the bathroom to put your own toiletries on (we had to use the top of the radiator) and, like many hotels, in a double room there was only one chair !! However we will definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone.
