I rarely leave negative reviews, but unfortunately this was one of the worst accommodation experiences I’ve had, and I’ve traveled to more than 25 countries.
First, this is not a hotel but rather a private apartment in a residential building. There is no proper reception or check-in process. You must contact the host in advance to receive the check-in instructions. I wasn’t aware of this, and when I arrived, the staff downstairs barely spoke English and couldn’t explain what was happening. To make matters worse, the lobby Wi-Fi wasn’t working, and my phone battery was almost dead (2%), making the whole check-in process unnecessarily stressful.
Once inside the apartment, things didn’t improve. The hair dryer didn’t work, there wasn’t even a trash bin in the room, the refrigerator had a very unpleasant smell, and at one point there was no hot water. Although the apartment has a nice view, the overall maintenance and attention to detail were very disappointing.
Another issue is the building itself. The elevators had extremely long waiting times because it is such a large tower. The worst part, however, was the customer service.
I requested a late check-out and paid for an additional two hours. Finally, at the exact minute my extended check-out ended, someone knocked on my door asking me to leave. I’ve stayed in accommodations all over the world, and I’ve honestly never experienced such an inflexible and uncomfortable check-out process in my entire life.
