What wonderful accommodations on beautiful grounds right by Lake Taupo! Was getting nervous on our road trip that there was nothing out here, but Tongariro Lodge exceeded any expectations. Central lodge is a short walk from cottages, which are spaced around campus. My cottage was good, but could have used a bit updating (compared to Powederhorn, in Ohakune). If you are hiking the Tongariro, it is very convenient to trailhead. Lodge dining facility was very good.
