We stayed in the Suite with two terraces and was worth paying the extra for. One terrace is inward facing without any view, but the other is lovely and the two rooms gave the extra space we were seeking. It is right on the train station platform (takes less than 15 seconds from reception to being on a train) and a great base to explore the region. Would definitely come back.

An excellent hotel, right in the middle of Interlaken - a stone’s throw from Interlaken West station (the hotel literally backs onto the station platform). It has beautiful, modern, comfortable rooms with all needs catered for including lovely balconies overlooking the mountains. Our stay included breakfast with an extensive choice, and we regularly visited its lovely bar for evening drinks. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly at every interaction with them. Interlaken will be a lasting memory of our holiday travelling around Europe - it’s a beautiful town and area, and our stay at the Essential by Dorint was a key part of our stay there.

Room was far too expensive for what it was - little to no light and very basic, cleaning was missed and no fridge or kettle, which are pretty basic when you’re paying £500 a night. No fridge and no kettle which meant travelling with a baby was very difficult. Room wasn’t cleaned although a daily inspection took place meaning it was cleaned when we asked for it when it was missed. Great breakfast, location and staff were very friendly.
