The setting of the lodge is gorgeous, perched on a hill overlooking Lake Ihema. The morning sunrise comes up over the lake. The rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable. The staff is wonderfully welcoming. The food was also great. The lodge is located a short distance from the entrance to Akagera park. We loved our stay.

I can’t stress enough what a beautiful place this lodge is. But not only the location itself with a surreal view on the national park is a highlight. My personal highlight was the staff which is incredibly kind, helpful and patient. Thank you Claire, Chantalle, Gilbert and all the rest of the staff for making this stay so, so pleasant and special.

Wonderful staff, view and bungalow!!!!

Way too short, only 1 night. Very roomy bungalow with great views of the lake. Staff was wonderful and friendly. The only major disadvantage is its location outside of the park. So, you must pay the $100 entry fee a second time when you enter back into the park on Day 2.

Our friend recommended this place, and I’m glad they did. First, the property has a beautiful view. We especially enjoyed watching the sunrise over the lake. Our tent was very clean and well maintained, clearly high quality. I was impressed with the water pressure and temperature of the shower even in the tent. It was refreshing to swim in the pool after a long safari ride. The food was great and staff were wonderful, especially Aimee. We are grateful for the driver they arranged - Said was an experienced and excellent guide to the park. We would come back any time!
