I was pleasantly surprised at how great this place was! We arrived to a clean, spacious chalet that had the heater already on to provide the best welcome on a cold day. The chalet had everything a traveller would need for either a short stay or a longer visit. We travelled with our children and grandchildren and the host ensured we were in chalets next to each other and that a cot was available for us. Would highly recommend, especially for those visiting the ski slopes. Having said that we just had a relaxing few days enjoying the sun filled living room!

We stayed at Rocky Mountain Chalets over Easter and spent a few days on the mountain bike tracks. It was an excellent place to stay, super close to Ohakune town with easy access to excellent cafes and restaurants. I would recommend it ans a great place to stay at any time of year.

We were arriving late so a quick call to arrange late check in was easy. We stayed 3 nights in total with a 4 day trip away in between nights which was made so easy by the owner to allow us the same chalet for each night. Easy walk to town and we did drive some nights. Clean and cosy rooms. Central to the mountain and town. Very nice room layout! Washer/ dryer available in the villa. Check in process could be improved. We arrived earlier in the day and no one around to help us check in. We left and returned hours later and still no one to check us in. Another person staying in the resort contacted the person that was supposed to be there for check in and that person sent the cleaner to check us in! It was annoying and bizarre!
