Hotel was very nice. Has a restaurant on property and the rooms were good size. Beds were very comfortable. Only negative is the lack of decent size elevators. 2 tiny elevators that took forever with a big group there. Overall, a great stay!

Boy, this hotel has potential but it's clearly run on a minimal budget which ruins the experience. It's an historic building with great bones, but Doubletree has decided to install sparse, cheap furniture in the lobby and rooms, so it feels more like a modern day efficiency hotel used by youth sports travel teams. Too bad. We had drinks in the bar. They were expensive and lousy. Our room was a spacious suite with a comfortable bed (phew!) but the couch and table were junky. Not to mention there was a bucket in one of the closets with water in it. It wasn't raining while we visited but I suspect it's there due to a leak. Oh and when we arrived we had to wait 10 mins before we could check in because no one was at the desk. Someone finally came out of the bar to help us. He was friendly/helpful but perhaps needed to finish his beer before greeting paying guests. Overall, this hotel is a missed opportunity but that's what happens when a hotel chain selects efficiency/profit over a memorable customer experience.
