This is a very basic place to stay close to the beach, and it's the value proposition that makes it worth staying here. The rooms aren't big, and most don't have a bathroom, and in the early evening the place can be a bit noisy. But the price is right, the staff is friendly, and it's easy to get to from the airport. It's one of the few Fijian-owned hotels in the area. There's also a supermarket at the end of the block.

Whether you are traveling with others, or entirely on your own like I was, The Ideal Bed & Breakfast is a fantastic choice! The family and staff are exceptionally warm and welcoming, creating a home-away-from-home atmosphere. I loved the convenience of their airport pickup and shuttle service, as well as the daily afternoon tea at 3:00 PM. If you are looking for adventure, definitely ask about their guest tours. They organized an active trek for me where Freddie handled the driving and Jerome guided me all the way to the peak of Mount Batilamu—an unforgettable experience. They offer clean, comfortable accommodations to fit any budget, ranging from shared spaces to private rooms. It is also perfectly situated within walking distance of a tourist-friendly grocery market, restaurants, and primary tour hubs. Highly recommended for an authentic Fijian experience!

The people at Ideal are lovely - so nice & welcoming. However, this hotel is more of a hostel. I thought I had upgraded to a private room to insure I would have a private bath. That was not the case. The toilets were down the hall & the sinks were in the hallway. There was no tv, and the only mirror in the room was about 10”x8”. There was no internet access in the rooms. It was only in a common area on the grounds. The included breakfast was cooked to order. The hotel was a 5 minute walk to the beach. I didn’t need a posh room for my brief trip - but this was unacceptable.

I had a lovely stay here as a solo female traveler! All of the staff were so so kind and breakfast was delicious. The rooms can be a bit loud so I would recommend brining ear buds if you’re a light sleeper but I would definitely stay again and can’t recommend enough. Thank you for making me feel so welcomed!
