The location of this hotel was very good. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff on reception were helpful and friendly. Breakfast buffet was very good also. The hotel also provide a drinks machine to use for tea, coffee etc free of charge. They also leave a few pastries and fruit out for you to take if you wish. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely hotel perfectly located near the river walk. So scenic, yet quiet with many restsurants nearby. We were less than 10 minute walk from the Cathedral and crowded "touristy" places. Hotel de l'Ill had a plentiful breakfast included (eggs, yoghurt and toppings, pastries, meats, cheeses, breads, juices, coffee, teas, etc.). Another amenity we enjoyed was the restaurant/large area with 24-hour coffee/cappacino/tea machine and fruits and pastries for as long as they lasted. It was lovely to come back each evening for a coffee. The staff was excellent and the rooms fresh and clean. Beds were comfortable with blackout shades. Many will appreciate the bath/shower, but we would have prefered a shower. The #10 bus that served our long distance needs was just around the corner. The 72-hour bus pass, which also goes to the train station, paid for itself. We enjoyed the scenic Batorama river cruise that embarks from nearby. Our favorite casual restaurant was Au Brasseur, and we enjoyed a delucious romantic dinner at Rimini. Both were less than 10 minutes away. We would not hesitate to return to this little gem.

I had a fantastic stay at Hotel L’Ill in Strasbourg! The service was outstanding—every staff member was warm, helpful, and always ready to assist with a smile. The location is perfect, tucked away in a quiet spot but still just a short walk from the heart of the old town and all the main sights. Great location near the "vieille ville". Park the car and do the rest by foot. The house itself could use some renovation, but this is more than made up by the very friendly and helpful staff and the cleanliness of the rooms. Good breakfast. L’Hotel de L’Ill is exceptional value for the price. It’s very close to most places you may wish to visit in Strasbourg. It’s location is less than a minute from the river and the promenade which runs along this side of the river. Location is fantastic. Photos of exterior are not available on we site, which made it hard to understand that it's exterior is just a door on a busy street. Photos of rooms are representative. breakfast hit or miss as far as heat of goods offered. Breakfast didn't change. always had scrambled eggs (sometimes cold and barely cooked), bacon (as sometimes cold), baguette (no toaster), pastries, deli meat and cheese, and 1 coffee machine which was always busy. Beds comfortable, but sheets were rough or well worn. Would stay here again. Location to Christmas markets is very walkable and beautiful.

Overall, the location and services of this hotel are fine, the staff is good, breakfast is fine. It all comes down to the room we had, 01 right outside off the lobby. This room is not acceptable for a modern tourist hotel. The bathroom was not separated from the rest of the room at all and the shower flooded the whole bathroom area. Outside the room, other guests and staff used the small courtyard as a smoking area and it was often completely smoke filled and smoke smelling. All but the room were ok for us

This was a great hotel with friendly staff. Our triple room was clean and floor plan was practical with shower area and bathroom being separate. Breakfast spread was great with fresh bread and yummy croissants every day. There was a paid parking closeby so it was good to leave the car and walk everywhere. Cathedral and Petite France were only 10 minute walk. Will stay here again if we travel to Strasbourg.

We were two couples staying in Standard rooms. Both were very tired although obviously clean. Needing updating to flooring, painting etc. The shower in one bathroom leaked over the floor and had no holder to put the shower head in. It is such a shame. The staff are lovely and the location perfect, near to the old town, cathedral etc. But the condition of the rooms needs to be addressed for us to recommend a return.

This is a lovely hotel that is clean and close to the sites of the city. You are within walking distance to the Petite France district which houses the cathedral, Christmas markets, shopping and many restaurants. We stayed in an apartment which was lovely, it was well appointed, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is a wonderful perk with generous offerings. We were, however; disappointed with the service we received. Upon arrival, we were made to wait some time and not given appropriate information for our stay including; check-out times, cleaning, the location of our apartment and assistance with our baggage even though we requested it. We were also given the keys to the wrong room and entered a room that was occupied. Our keys never worked throughout our entire stay and we had to get new ones every time we came and left which was quite inconvenient. We were told that we could not lock our room from the inside as this is why the keys were not working, which made us quite uncomfortable, We also requested cleaning and left our door sign out from 11am-11pm and our room was never cleaned. We really enjoyed the room and location of the hotel, but the service left something to be desired.
