Booked this apartment hotel for my parents first time in Japan. The room we booked is similar to a studio apartment with everything you would need such as plates/utensils/pots/toaster oven/microwave/washer and of course refrigerator. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The location is easy access to the Chiyoda line which was about a 1 minute walk. Family Mart which we went to every night is just at the corner of the street. 7-eleven is also close by. Ueno station about a 15 minute walk if you were to take the Skyliner to-from the airport. Ueno park is also close by walking distance. So much to do and shop around the area. I can go on and on with all the positives of this place. This is my second trip to Japan and usually prefer apartment hotel set up v.s traditional hotel. Very comfortable and will definitely go back on my next trip to Japan!

Section L Yushima-Ueno is a great place to base yourself in Tokyo. It has large rooms with a kitchenette and a washing machine. Great to have if you are staying for a few days or more. The rooms are spotlessly clean and very practical. The staff at reception are very relaxed and helpful. All seem to be fluent in English so if you are new to Japan they can give excellent guidance. I think the Ueno area is a great place to base yourself. There is so much on offer within easy walking distance. It is easy to get on the Yamanote metro line to get around the city. Also it is very handy to the Ueno station which has Shinkansen and Narita airport connections.

My son and I stayed at Section L for a week in the deluxe twin room. The room was perfect. It had everything we needed (refrigerator, washer/dryer, cooking stove and supplies). The room was spacious enough that we did not feel cramped. We had a separate dining area to enjoy our meals. We loved that the toilet was in a different room than the shower and sink so we both could get ready for the day. The staff was amazing. Very helpful in recommending places and assisting with whatever needs we had. They went above and beyond in making sure our stay was perfect. And it was pleasant to talk to them on our return from outings; they became like friends. The hotel provided an umbrella to use on rainy weather. And it was a quiet location. We would absolutely recommend staying here and hope to be back again!

We really enjoyed our stay at Section L Ueno! We got a “family suite,” which was two adjoining rooms. The space was perfect for our family of 4. It was great to have a separate room for the kids, since they go to bed earlier than the adults. We took advantage of the in-room kitchen and ate breakfast in our room each morning, which allowed us to get out and about more quickly. The in-room washer/dryer was so convenient. The staff were fantastic - friendly, knowledgeable, and so kind. The location of the hotel was perfect: close to multiple train stations, walkable to Ueno Park, 7-11 and Family Mart right around the corner, but also very quiet. Overall, I highly recommend staying here!
