Hotel La Colonna is a lovely hotel with a pool set in gardens but it’s the location that is a problem. It is set on a main through road on the outskirts of Siena. You will have to bus or taxi into the centre. Buses don’t run at night. We did eat at a lovely family run Italian pizza restaurant close by and there are a few other eateries but you are limited. The receptionist Alexandra (?) was so lovely and informative and seemed to work in all areas. There are not many staff here. Overall, however, we did enjoy our stay.

On Bus #54 - to and from the centre off Siena, the hotel was very convenient for our 21 night stay. We also visited Tuscany with both public buses and trains, all being very easy to connect with from this hotel. This is a 3 star hotel, but in that category it is one of the VERY BEST. We enjoyed the two restaurants within the immediate vicinity. As Canadians we will recommend the hotel to our fellow travellers to Siena.

The bus stop (to take you up to the old town of Sienna) was literally two minutes from the hotel. There is information on the bus stop telling you when your bus is due. so you can go and wait in the hotel. (very scary exciting ride up and back to the town. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Comfortable bed. Shower (inside bath) very cleverly designed. Breakfast acceptable very helpful staff. Over all enjoyed our stay at interesting Siena. Pat and Ellert Meyer

Abbiamo passato 2 notti in occasione dell'assegnazione dei cavalli del palio. La nostra era spaziosa, silenziosa, con un letto matrimoniale comodo e un lettino singolo per il bimbo. Era disponibile il frigobar e la TV con accesso a youtube. Il bagno era ampio, ma c'era la vasca da bagno che è apparsa un pò scivolosa, bisogna prestare attenzione. In generale comunque ben pulita e ordinata. Meravigliosa la piscina che abbiamo utilizzato diverse ore, come altezza va da 1.20 m a circa 1.70 m. Poichè l'ingresso dà direttamente sulla strada principale dove le macchine viaggiano a velocità sostenute, si consiglia di mettere un protezione in ferro almeno davanti alla hall. Non abbiamo usufruito della colazione.

Séjour d’une nuit, piscine agréable, chambres qui mériteraient un petit coup de rénovation, mais tout était propre. Hôtel bien situé pour visiter Sienne, à moins de 10min du centre mais au calme. Attention, une route passante devant l’hôtel, veiller à demander une chambre de l’autre côté. Petit déjeuner diversifié. Expérience agréable pour une nuit.
