The Morph Chico feels like a basic business person’s studio apartment with a small kitchen. It’s fine, a little drab and worn around the edges, but was adequate for my purposes. Two positives are a gym on the top floor and a laundry room with multiple machines on the ground floor. There is a “front desk” but it’s manned by a security guard whose basic job is security not client relations (the guard I dealt with only spoke Spanish). In the end, it took me 25 minutes to check in on a Saturday afternoon as he said I had no reservation in the system. Frankly, he was rude and seemed unwilling to help in any way even after seeing my reservation on my phone. In the end, after waiting for 20 minutes where he basically ignored me, he finally called a woman who came to the front desk and called the owners of the apartment, who confirmed I did have a reservation. She was very helpful, as were the housekeeping staff, but his rudeness left me feeling quite unhappy. Besides the security guard, the biggest negative for me was that the studio was 45 minutes away by car to almost all of the tourist sites (museums, La Candelaria, Mountserrat, etc.) The owners were kind, helpful and responsive.
