Less Than Impressive Stay
Internet access and the fitness center were the high points of my stay.
The property is relatively new, with new construction projects going up directly across the street. The crews were working around the clock (24 hours) during my stay. I was able to drown out most of the noise with the computer and air conditioner.
The cable TV wasn't working the first 2 days. (don't know what the problem was)
The first night, I couldn't get room service. (about 11:30pm) After trying 3 times (about 12:15am) I decided to go to sleep and catch breakfast at 6:30am.
The front desk was unable to use a debit card to facilitate the "charge to room" option, so I had to pay for everything as the charges occurred.
I attempted to schedule scuba diving with the concierge, but no one followed up with me.
On night 2, I ordered a tropical smoothie at the bar downstairs. It was given to me partially full, as if someone had drank out of it. (picture below) If I didn't watch the bartender prepare it, I would have refused it. When I questioned him about it, (twice) he didn't offer an explanation.
On the 3rd day, room service skipped my room for unknown reasons. I made sure to turn off the "do not disturb" light when I left the room at 11am. When I returned at 5pm nothing had been touched. Trash wasn't removed, no new bottles of water, and the towels left on the floor were still there. Since I was due to check out the next day, I didn't bother to mention it to the front desk.
