A beautiful old property. We stayed in one of the spacious super clean bungalows. We sat outside the chateau for breakfast to the song of golden orieles. Staff was super helpful leaving key and instructions after reception was closed as we arrived near midnight.

We stayed for 2 nights on our way back to the UK with our dog. It’s a lovely old chateau a few miles outside Beaune. The staff were incredibly helpful, the breakfast was great and there were spacious grounds for walking the dog. We parked easily in the grounds and generally found it very relaxing. We will return.

5 Stars isn’t enough for this true gem!

We have travelled the world and stayed at numerous great places, but this one left an indelible mark on our hearts. All thanks not only to an authentic yet respectfully modernized French oasis, but also to the host Vanessa and her team – their exceptional warmth and hospitality truly made us feel appreciated and welcome!   We had a lovely room in the annex, from where we could easily overlook and access the beautiful pool area, as well as enter our room from the charming courtyard.   The breakfast is a chapter by itself: a sumptuous selection of whatever you could wish for, all meticulously prepared and served in a chateau-worthy setting. When the weather allows, you can choose to enjoy it in the courtyard garden, where you can dine surrounded by a feeling of ancient magic."   We will surely come back!

My husband and I had a lovely stay at this hotel. Our room was one with a jetted tub, which was fabulous. We had a sitting room and a bedroom, which was spacious and tastefully decorated with antiques. Totally worth the upgrade. Hotel Challenges was the perfect home base for exploring Burgundy. You will need a car, as the hotel is a mile outside Beaune. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The first day they gave us maps and suggested restaurants in the area. Breakfast was great, lots of choices. We used the pool once and found it crowded, but it was clean and well-maintained. The best thing about this hotel was the resident tabby cat. Very regal and happy to be petted.

Good stopover- would stay again

Very happy with this attractive authentic chateau in a very quiet situation easy to locate a short distance from the motorway. We didn’t walk around the grounds or see the pool as it was inclement weather. The room was immaculate albeit very small but it was the least expensive but next time I would upgrade to have a separate bathroom. For an overnight stop it was fine - breakfast was adequate apart from the lack of fresh coffee-only a machine and the coffee from that was not the best. I think it might have contained powdered sweet milk. We were booked into a very nice nearby restaurant so the lack of a restaurant wasn’t a problem- good secure parking.

A beautiful place to stay and one of our favourite hotels of the trip. The chalet is gorgeous, with a lovely outdoor pool and a really cosy, comfortable room. The staff were also warm and friendly throughout our stay. It’s a little out of town, but that’s actually part of its charm, it’s incredibly peaceful and quiet, while still being close enough to get into Beaune easily. The hotel doesn’t have a restaurant, which is worth bearing in mind, although breakfast is available and they can provide other food on request. The bar is also very well stocked, which is a nice touch. We rented bikes from the hotel for €20 for the day. They’re fairly basic but perfectly adequate for exploring the surrounding area and getting into Beaune. The only small criticism would be that the bathroom could do with a little more hanging space, there weren’t really anywhere to hang bath towels, for example. Overall, a beautiful, peaceful and characterful place to stay. We’d happily return.
