Lovely Hidden Jen in Contania!

Loved the B&B , so central to Sonny different sights and experiences. The room was charming, large and very comfortable. Did find the patio furniture to be very inadequate and in very poor state, all rusted out.

The place is right on the main walking street in front of Hotel Metropole. A bit hard to find entrance, but maybe the owner can update the instructions. The location has its plusses and minuses, as the neighboring restaurant La Scala has live music till midnight. The first night we joined the crowd, ate well and had a few drinks. The second night was tougher as we had an early flight to catch and needed some sleep)) Registering process a bit unusual, but nevermind. All in all a great place to stay in Taormina and see it without the hordes of daytrippers.

Very disappointing experience We chose Palazzo Speciale B&B because we loved the historic character and the beautiful photos presented on the listing. Unfortunately, our experience was very different from what we expected based on those photos. During our stay, we found heavily worn and damaged furniture, marked and cracked walls, damaged plaster and paint, deteriorated common areas, visible cables and several broken or poorly maintained fittings. I took numerous photos of the condition of the property during our stay. I want to be clear that the age of the building was not a problem for us. On the contrary, its historic character was one of the reasons we chose it. What disappointed us was the overall level of maintenance compared with the impression we had from the listing photos. We had considered other hotels nearby, some offering spas, wellness facilities, jacuzzis or rooftops, but chose Palazzo Speciale because we preferred the charm and atmosphere shown in its photos. Based on our experience after arrival, we regretted that choice and would have selected another accommodation. I recommend future guests carefully review all available information and recent guest photos before booking.

This is a great spot for enjoying Catagnia. Angelo was very communicative before arrival and made sure all our needs were met on arrival. You are very close to the main square and it is easy to walk or get a Lime scooter. The room itself was enjoyable and charming and the bathroom was spacious. We only spent a night as a stopover city, but we would want to go back.
