Chachapoyas is a little place, and it was nice to find a nice hotel. Aside from the neighborhood rooster, it was very peaceful and a good walking distance from the town square. Someone had clearly invested quite a bit in renovating what looked like a formerly nondescript building. It's a great base of operations for seeing the Kuelap and the other many sites in the area.

Wir hatten in diesem eigentlich schönen Kolonialhotel, 350 m vom Plaza de Armas entfernt, das Standardzimmer, karg ausgestattet, ohne Safe, Minbar, Fön, Tee, Kaffee, Wasser bzw. -kocher. Das Frühstück überschaubar und passabel, allerdings wurden trotz unseres Hinweises die warmen Speisen wie Rührei und Hackbällchen an zwei Tagen kalt angeboten; das Personal wirkte desinteressiert. Ein Lob dagegen für die freundlichen und kompetenten Damen an der Rezeption! Für das Gebotene war der Preis entschieden zu hoch: eine Ausnahme unter den Casa Andina Hotels.
