Had a 4 night stay at The City Hotel, was not disappointed. Had a superior twin room which was small but comfortable. On suite was good with large shower area and water always hot.Breakfast was more than adequate with a good selection of food. Remember that this is 3 star, don't expect luxurious accomadation. It is very close to the station and a 15 to 20 minute walk to the city centre bars and restaurants..I would certainly use this hotel if I return to Amsterdam. Give the Pollux Cafe a try 50 yards towards the station great beers.

This hotel is in a perfect location if you are doing a bike/barge tour which departs from Oosterdok. It is less than a half mile walk to central station from where you can go just about anywhere in the Netherlands, and is close to many restaurants, Oosterdok, and NEMO.
