I almost don't want to review Iveagh Lodge in case it's so busy I can't stay there next time I'm in Dublin! It's in a great, central location close to Connolly station and O'Connell street, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It's not air conditioned, so I had to open the window to get some cool air which meant I could hear some noise from outside, though it's to be expected given the location. I also found the shower head not the easiest to change the direction of. I didn't spot a lift so it may not be suitable for those with mobility issues. However those are very minor points which wouldn't put me off returning. Much more importantly, it's immaculately clean, well maintained and compares favourably to the nearby chains like Travelodge, Premier Inn etc - there's a kettle and hairdryer provided in the room which immediately made me very happy!

The room was very clean and big. Very nice room. The building is charmingly old, but it was noisy. Squeeky sounds when people walked in the hallway. We were in the First floor, and we could hear the main door slamming everytime someone came through it, all through the night. Nice location, close to everything, but not too far away. Very helpful and welcoming staff.

This is not a posh hotel experience, but it is clean, friendly and adequate to its purpose. Don’t think of it as anything other than a clean safe and friendly place to lay your head in the centre of Dublin, near the bus and train stations, and you will not be disappointed.
