Friendly, helpful staff. Very comfortable beds, large rooms, good heating and immaculate bed-linen. Lots of hot water for showering. However, this is a very dated hotel in great need of re-furbishment. Hallways are dark, narrow & there are some creaky floorboards & sad, checkered patterned carpet. Nets on windows are a throw-back to the 1970’s & windows need cleaning. Very good breakfast with great range of good quality options and freshly cooked options from the kitchen. Here again, staff were very helpful and courteous. Lovely residential bar area with well-stocked shelves. Superb location with the entire centre of the town square on the doorstep with shops, cafes and bars. Appropriately priced, all things considered. Would love to win the lotto and modernise this place for more people to enjoy.

We got this last minute because our other accommodations were cancelled out from under us. This hotel was one of only 2 hotels left ( in Dungarvan). First the good. The breakfast is very good and the hotel has some charm. The bad. None of the outlets ( electrical) worked in the room. The window only opens about 10cm and there is no A/C. There is also no ceiling fan, so it was difficult keeping the room temp down, even, in the middle of the night. The TV required a account log in to get the TV functions ( smart TV functions)

Arrived WAY early by public transport and expected to have to wile away our time until the 4PM check-in. However as the room was ready we were able to check in hours earlier which was very helpful. So we really started out on a great footing with our Dungarvan stay.

It was a fine place to stay for the night. It is a bit dated, but clean and comfortable. Only issue was it was very hot and as with most places, there is no air conditioning. Room was very basic, no air con so it was really stuffy and warm at night. Breakfast staff were so friendly and lovely and chatty. Had a brief encounter with the owner, who was really cranky and rude, we then overheard him being really rude with the reception staff - for this reason I wouldn’t stay again. He made us feel really unwelcome.

Not the best hotel I have stayed in

Not the best nor worst hotel i have stayed in, The room was pretty basic and bed ok. I have stayed in other Lawlors hotels which I found to be better than this. The food in the bar was reasonably priced but not the best quality and i left some of it. it didnt feel welcoming for a business traveller with loud locals shouting and swearing all over the place. I wouldnt stay again I am afraid
