Was really impressed with this very newly opened hotel. Location was perfect for us. Room was very comfortable with everything we could ask for. Dinner was lovely and good value, only thing I could suggest would be adding a veggie option. I cannot compliment the staff enough, they were amazing, very friendly and could not do enough for you. Would not hesitate to recommend and look forward to staying again.

Traveled from North Devon to see family in Carlisle, luckily we couldnt get into anywhere in Carlisle, and we found this which was about 10 miles away. The new owner of 3 weeks was on reception, he was lovely and couldn't be more helpful. The room and bathroom spotlessly clean. The barman was lovely and the bar well stocked. There was no breakfast available because of only being there 3 weeks, but were doing evening meals.

Considering that this hotel has only been open 3 weeks the staff have done an excellent job. A few shortcomings that we were told would be corrected within the next 7-10 days (Limited draught beer and no breakfast option to name but 2) did not distract from service provided. Large room with a jacuzzi bath and awesome view of the grounds. Exceptional staff, nice bar and restaurant area (the steak pie is a must try), lovely gardens and close to the motorway for your overnight stop. Will we stop here again...... in a heartbeat

It was the second time staying at The Gables with the new owners now in residence. We were made very welcome with the soft opening on our first stay with an excellent cooked breakfast. Changes are being made as they find their way and they are now going to provide a self service breakfast as their growing numbers of guests wanted more choice. The staff are very helpful. It is £15.00 for the dog to stay which is a lot for one night. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Tea, coffee etc provided. toiletries also. We would definitely stay there again on route to our final destination.
