What a lovely home! The Chiltern Inn is a charming old New England home tucked behind mature trees and beautiful gardens filled with huge hydrangeas and flowers. The owners were incredibly hospitable, and you can tell how much thought they’ve put into making the inn feel special and welcoming. The location is perfect—just a 10-minute walk to Main Street’s restaurants and shops and a short drive to the trails of Acadia. Peaceful, charming, and perfectly positioned for enjoying the best of Bar Harbor and Acadia!

Joan and Dan were lovely. Dan played music in the afternoons during wine and cheese time. We got a good mix of wine/cheese by ourselves and a bit of socializing as well. Dan's voice is wonderful as he occasionally sings the songs he plays (piano is primary instrument).

We had such a lovely stay at this bed and breakfast! The hosts were some of the friendliest people we’ve ever met—so welcoming and helpful with tips about Bar Harbor and Acadia. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and made us feel right at home. And we absolutely adored Cookie, their sweet dog—he made the stay even more special. We would definitely come back the next time we’re in the area!

What a beautiful Inn! We stayed in the Yellow Room which was nicely appointed and opened into a charming sitting room. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and wonderful advice about sightseeing from our hosts. The Inn is away from the bustle of downtown, but close enough to walk. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend a stay at Chiltern Inn.

Great space in Bar Harbor

The room was great, spacious living area. Kitchenette was a great plus (even though we didn’t use it). Only concern I had was how thin the walls were and the creaking floors. Even though that is part of its charm, I prefer not to wake the neighbors when I get up to use the restroom at night.

Beautiful B&B, with exceptional renovations and decor. Wonderful room. Owners very friendly and informative about things to do in the area.. Close to village, but far enough to be quiet and private. Nice afternoon wine and cheese, and exceptional breakfasts! Only minor issue was room was not serviced after first night stay. Not a big deal but surprised us. Certainly give this a very strong recommendation.

Very good breakfast. The mushroom omelette we had for breakfast was simply outstanding. Also the wine & cheese between 17:30-19:00 is a great way to meet the other guests. Superb !
