The staff are incredible — warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful in a way that makes every stay feel personal. The cabins are pristine and beautifully designed, especially considering you’re on a ship. If you can book the Bitter End cabin, do it. It’s an unexpectedly luxurious space with thoughtful details that make it feel special. The breakfast on the deck was always delicious with a solid variety. Leith itself is an amazing neighborhood, full of great cafés and restaurants - especially for the pescatarians!

An unforgettable experience aboard the historic Ocean Mist. Moored gracefully along the harbour canal in Leith, the century-old vessel is steeped in character, combining vintage nautical charm with flawless, attentive service from the entire crew. The top deck bar is a particular delight, a superb spot to sink into a handsome leather armchair, savour a drink, and watch the world go by along the water. Down in the cabin, everything was peaceful and cosy, with a wonderfully firm and comfortable bed. A unique and evocative retreat in Edinburgh.

The Ocean Mist is a quirky boutique hotel. Our room was well furnished with a comfy bed with beautiful linen. The bathroom was spotless and had an excellent shower. The room was not particularly big, but then you should expect that on 100+ year old boat. The staff were really lovely and couldn't be faulted on anything. Breakfast was ok with cereals, yoghurt, fruit, cold meats and cheeses. It wasn't anything memorable and it was quite awkward having to sit in an armchair to eat it.
