Old world sophistication with modern convenience.

Our first floor room was absolutely lovely. We loved the queen bed and furnishings/ decorations in the room. Tons of ambiance and charm. And although there is a/c we loved having the windows open allowing for a gorgeous cross breeze across the room to the big beautiful windows on the other side of the room. Breakfast was fabulous and delicious every morning. We highly recommend this location and B&B! And a big thank you to our fantastic hostess! We will definitely stay here again when we are next in the area.

Excellent if you don't have mobility issues

The location, cleanliness and service were exceptional! The staff we met (Elizabeth, I believe) were exceptional people, also. The ONLY items we would mention are if you're getting up in age and have mobility issues (we are ALMOST there). The upstairs rooms have a steep, narrow staircase that made moving our suitcase difficult. Also, there is not enough room in the room we had for two comfortable chairs, so went we got tired from our walking, one of use had to lay on the bed while the other one sat in our comfortable chair. If we came back again next week, I'm not sure if these issues would cause us to chose another location, but a year or two from now (we are in our 70s) might cause us to stay somewhere with more comfortable furniture and a less steep staircase. We were VERY glad we stayed here this time!

Great location and lovely room, central to old Quebec and things to see. Tiny room, which was expected, and stairs, just a heads up. Delightful place and lovely breakfast

We had a wonderful stay at B&B de la Fontaine and would highly recommend it. A beautiful B&B nestled on a quiet street in historic old Quebec city, steps from the Chateau Frontenac and all the sites. Our room was small but incredibly cozy with such attention to everything we needed including a private bathroom and mini fridge.

10/10 Exceptional

The building was old and the room we stayed in was small but adequate. Being in the heart of Old Quebec, I was not surprised by its size. Nevertheless, our hostess, Victoria, was exceptionally gracious and helpful. She greeted us upon our arrival and gave us all the basic information like breakfast time and where to park and how to contact her with any and all questions related to our stay. The breakfast dining area while small was always kept clean, spotless, and organized. For those who have trouble climbing stairs, I would suggest to stay in one of the ground floor rooms because the stairs to the second floor is a bit steep. The building was a stone's throw from Chateau Frontenac and the promenade. It is near many restaurants and other eateries. So in that regard, it was very convenient. Victoria was always ready early in the morning to make breakfast for all the guests with a smile. She gave us suggestions on places to visit outside Quebec City which we took advantage of. As for parking, which was a concern of mine, wasn't bad a all. We parked in front of the building to unload our luggage then at Victoria's suggestion, parked our car at a nearby indoor parking lot. The cost for parking was a relatively reasonable $18 a day plus taxes. Overall, the stay was very lovely and I quite enjoyed the hospitality.

2/10 Poor

We could not get our luggage up the stairs and there was no one to help us until 8:30 pm. The room we were assigned was already occupied. Very frustrating experience. The bed was comfortable. Individual on the phone who tried to help us was kind.
Christine, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

No parking

The place was clean and as described. However, this is no parking associated with the building. You have to park in public lots or garages that are sometimes full. Be prepared to walk a ways to/from parking. There is not even a loading zone/15 minute parking area to drop off your bags. You just have to figure it out. When you get there they just have a map of the city with some highlighted places you can park. But again, there are not any reserved spots associated with the B&B so they were full at times which led us to have to circle around the city googling places to park. I find it very misleading that this place advertises that it has parking.
