The staff was very nice. Very accommodating we were there for a funeral and allowed us to check in an hour early. We paid around 130 a night. The reason for the low-scoring is that the room carpet felt sticky and gooey. It was not comfortable to walk on without shoes so I kept my slippers on the whole time. I think overall it was bad ventilation. Even the sheets would feel kind of moist if you left the AC on running. It wasn’t horrible. It was just OK.

Stay was average-to-poor. Aside from bed and pillows being comfortable, the following negatively affected our stay: the shower door was of the sliding type and would not shut…had to place a hand towel between sliding door and stationary portion for it to remain shut and water not be spread to bathroom floor; the shower, water pressure was poor and water was cold; the hotel had a strong scent of cleaner agents throughout stay, in lobby and room; ceiling tiles missing in hall exiting elevator and wires sticking out; hallway had large stains on carpet; room door had large stain on it; shower tile had long crack (about 3 feet long).

I had high hopes when I saw all the great reviews. Overall, the room appeared clean. However, the shower was disgusting. The floor of the shower was literally black as if it hadn’t been cleaned in years. There was mold around the shower grout/caulking lines as well. It was so bad, I put down plastic lining on the floor to step on before taking a shower. Also, shady looking characters hanging out in the back of the building. Didn’t feel safe.

The air conditioning smelled absolutely awful in my second room! First room I was given didn’t have any curtains and seemed to be under construction. Front desk attendant said my room number out loud (it was late at night and I was traveling alone) while there were other male guests in the lobby with in ear shot.

During check-in, I was told my reserved room was not available. I requested a double queen, and they had only a single king available. An upgrade would’ve been great… A downgrade not acceptable! Refund of the difference was just not acceptable to me. They ended up giving me an extra discount off the king room in hopes that would make me happy. Not happy. Sure an extra $20 off the King room sounds good, but I had to contact Expedia to get a refund of the difference which is an extra step that I shouldn’t have had to take. In speaking to the manager, turns out the OWNER, himself, had occupied my room the day before and did not check out in time for it to be cleaned… from my understanding, he didn’t check out till after 4 PM. Of all people, I would think the owner would put his customers and their reservations first! He is neither considerate nor thoughtful of his customers. He should have checked out, put his luggage aside, and taken care of what he needed to - allowing housekeeping to clean the room. He could have stayed in a different room that was available if he needed another night. OR they shouldn’t have allowed anyone to book the last room if they knew that there was an issue with my room. Definitely not impressed with the owner and not impressed with the property. I won’t be staying there again.
