Holiday Inn Express & Suites Omaha West

dated; needs maintenance. too many construction workers during our stay....kinda like a Motel 6.

Our stay started with a trip to the pool where my kids immediately got burning eyes from the excessive amount of chlorine in the pool area with terrible ventilation. Then, we found mold in our room, which led to us switching rooms. After that, we got multiple prank calls, and to top it off, someone setting their shirt on fire in the public bathroom causing the entire buildings alarm to go off in the middle of the night. We were terrified, and instead of being reassuring, the desk attendant was flippant and making jokes, while many guests with children were coming out of their rooms scared and unsure of what was going on.

I loved the hotel. The staff was very nice. Right across the street you'll find a cigar bar (with outdoor seating as well) and Le Peep (breakfast/brunch) place. Four min drive from there you have area with more restaurants and bars, so the location was great, considering it's nowhere near downtown. The only bad thing was that the Jacuzzi was not working. The only reason we booked this hotel was for the Jacuzzi, and some of you may know that hotels with hot tubs and pools charge more. But they did give us passes to the gym near by that had Jacuzzi, so that helped a little. Breakfast was good, nothing spectacular, BUT they did have hot flaky cinnamon rolls and a pancake machine. That was the highlight.

Breakfast good and overall property nice. We just had a problem with housekeeping for our two night stay.

Very handy location with many places to shop and many good places to eat. Also there are entertainment opportunities located near by.
