Grand, old world place to stay.

This Hotel co-exists as The Royal Scots Club, and was a fascinating place to stay. The standard double room we had had a large bed and bathroom, and was very spacious. It was on the basement floor, just below street level, where lot of the Club's facilities were. The dining room was elegant, and we had both dinner and breakfast there. Nice food and service. The reception staff were nice too. The Club is in a quieter atea of Edinburgh, but not too far from things to see.

Can’t say a bad word

Booked as a Christmas gift for my parents - they haven’t stopped raving about it since. Have heard more about the hotel than their trip to Edinburgh! They loved the history and atmosphere and said the staff were delightful and it was well located for wandering around the city. Really surprised that somewhere I took a total chance on was such an unexpected holiday highlight for them!

Great stay

Everything in room to meet your needs. Reception staff very helpful. Rooms very comfortable, good size and great pillows with huge bed. Lovely friendly environment and not far to walk to centre but in a nice quiet and safe location, plus handy for bus routes.

My son and I stayed for 2 nights in March. The hotel is in a fantastic location for exploring Edinburgh but just a little way from the hustle. The rooms are very comfortable and well equipped. The hotel also has lots of interesting aspects because of its military Club association. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend. Excellent value for money.

Lovely room with character in a historic building. Front desk staff were very nice and I enjoyed being able to leave my key with them instead of carrying it around all day.

Quiet comfort

Peaceful, clean and well located. Would be 5/5 if the internet had been more reliable (no mobile service in room so was dependent on the hotel's WiFi).
