This is a lovely place and location cannot be better. You can walk everywhere. It's just opposite the main cathedral. Staff is friendly and really helpful. Sam at the reception is very approachable and helpful. I had a great stay. Highly recommend

Romantic, beautiful hotel in the heart of the Altstadt. If you get a room facing the front of the hotel, spectacular view of the cathedral. Great, friendly staff. Only negatives are that they do not have air-conditioned rooms and the bathroom (and shower) is tiny.

The Ritter was an absolutely phenomenal experience. Nice staff, nice food, and nice amenities. Would definitely recommend for anyone wishing to spend time in the Heidelberg area.

We hit the jackpot when we made a last minute reservation in Heidelberg. We knew we wanted to be in walking distance of the Christmas Markets and had no idea this building is so historic and the second most photographed building in Heidelberg. We were literally steps away from the Markets and all the shopping. The hotel itself is beautiful and our room was very comfortable. The only slightly annoying thing was it was difficult to find anyone at reception; it seems maybe there have a staff shortage. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

This place is very old and was obviously renovated in the 90's and not much has been done since. However the staff is so nice, the history of the building and location cannot be beat! If you come and stay here, just know you will have to park in parking garage 12 and walk about 5 min to h hotel. I wish the room was a little bigger, a little more updated, and a little better stocked, but I would stay here again for sure!

Hotel is very cool, historical and is located perfectly in the center of the Aldstadt. We were there for the illumination of the Heidelberg castle and it couldn't have been more perfect. Staff was very helpful as well. Our room was a little quirky to get to be we had a fabulous view of the castle out our window!

Couldn't be more central, its in the heart of old town heidelberg. The bldg itself is historical. The single room was very comfortable with Kettle,Tea, coffee, water. We had a late dinner at the hotel restaurant and the food was amazing.

Being right in-front of the church in the old town square was great. Makes wondering around convenient and you feel you can see more as you are nearly always walking distance. The on-site restaurant had wonderful food, and the selection of beer and wine rounded out the evening. I have to say the staff was remarkable. Always so much fun having conversations about how they go through life and to see their impressions of America. Would highly recommend as the place to stay.

We had an excellent stay at zum Ritterhaus! The location was in the heart of the old city. We love the church bells. Our courtyard facing room was quiet even on a Saturday night and the staff was helpful and accommodating. Our room was nothing fancy, which we expected, but it was clean and comfortable. We would gladly return.
