This is a large hotel and there did seem to be a couple of large groups staying there but this did not detract from our experience. Nice rooms with everything you could need, water readily provided. The pool is ok but the selling point for it is the fantastic view of Lions Rock. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and the buffet had a good selection of food to suit all palates. Breakfast was excellent, you can choose Sri Lankan or more western options. Plenty of choice. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Much nicer than photos show! The pool surrounds and bar area were lovely, perfectly framing Sigiriya Rock. The dining area and breakfast was excellent. The bed was comfortable. The shower was a little awkward to negotiate but overall fine. Staff were very friendly.

Hotel was beautiful, fabulous view on the rock, nice and large breakfast buffet. Staff was very friendly and service-minded. Dinesh by the pool was really sweet and very knowledgeable about the birds. He gave us a birdtour on the property

Breakfast was buffet style and was included in our room rate. Very good lots of choices. Pool was great with a fantastic view of lion rock. We were a couple and only saw a couple of children in the pool, lots of tour groups eating in the restaurant. We had the buffet dinner and found it good value 4500sri rupees

We had a great stay at Hotel Sigiriya! The views of Sigiriya Rock were beautiful, and we really enjoyed the breakfast. Our room was on the smaller side, but it was comfortable enough for our stay. The pool looked lovely as well, although unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to use it. There were two disappointments during our stay. First, before arriving, I contacted the hotel management to request a simple birthday surprise—a decorated room with a “Happy Birthday” message and a small cake. The hotel acknowledged the request, and I even noticed it written in the corner of our check-in paperwork. Unfortunately, the request was overlooked and the surprise never happened. It was a missed opportunity to make an already wonderful stay truly special. Hopefully, they can follow through next time! The second disappointment was on our second day. The cleaning staff made an elephant out of towels and placed it on our bed. When we dismantled it to use the towels, we realized that they appeared to be our previously used towels. We found this quite concerning and unsanitary, especially since used towels had been arranged and placed directly on the bed. Despite these issues, we had a lovely overall stay, enjoyed the beautiful surroundings, and appreciated the friendly service. With a little more attention to these details, the hotel could make the experience truly exceptional. We would consider staying again and hope for an even better experience next time.

This was a beautiful hotel with an amazing view of Sigiriya Rock from the pool. The bar and pool service was excellent, however we do note the restaurant left a little bit to be desired. We wish we had of explored some of the local eateries during our stay.

We only stayed for 1 night but would definitely recommend the Hotel Sigiriya and would stay here again should the opportunity present itself. Nice, clean and spacious rooms. The staff, especially at the restaurant (we had a bbq dinner buffet and breakfast buffet the next morning) were amazing. So friendly, courteous and helpful. The pool and pool views of the rock were great too!

Staff are nice specially the ones who are not in the restaurant. Hotel is very beautiful in very nice environment. Live music at nights, cute Christmas decorations all great. Food is relatively good (we tried breakfast and dinner and they were delicious). Needs improvement: For 2/4 nights of our stay we had lizards in our rooms (2 rooms, one constantly had in the other one we saw one day). Ultimately they changed one of our rooms for the second night with lizards but overall experience was severely impacted. Also at the buffet for both breakfast and dinner they tend not to refill the food and strangely before 1hr of the end time they comfortably say oh we don’t have xxx!
