Beautiful views

Wonderful stay, unbeatable views. Check in/out process was easy and staff were very friendly and responsive. Breakfast buffet included at Blue Hibiscus, neighboring hotel, was great. All around, we were looking for someplace we can enjoy the views and immerse ourselves in nature, this was definitely the spot.

Beautiful isolated lodge close to everything

Absolutely loved staying at the lodge, the staff was very friendly and the lodge was fantastic. Only stayed for a couple of days, but would definitely come back! We had some monkey business early one morning but were completely safe in the lodge :)

It’s a decent room, and somewhat charming to have your own little cabin. The views are obviously spectacular, and easily the highlight. That being said, this is a very small “hotel” with 14 cabins I believe. No overnight staffing, no amenities and somewhat in the middle of nowhere. Even the included breakfast is at another hotel, which is a drive (not a walk) away. There are insects/spiders we have been killing. Not my kind of place. Definitely much better options for the money

Rooms at Sangregado were beautiful with amazing views of the volcano. We enjoyed the covered balcony and Luis at the front desk was extremely helpful and pleasant. Would highly recommend.

The view and the experience were spectacular!! We were literally in the jungle! Birds, monkeys, wonderful Thunderstorms and beautiful sounds all around you!! The staff was very friendly and accommodating! I would highly recommend Sandriago to anyone and everyone!!

Our stay at the Sangregado Lodge was excellent. The staff worked very hard to make our stay as smooth as possible. The restaurant on site was excellent with the friendliest service around. The food was wonderful too. The servers accommodated us with special requests and assisted us with shuttle service back and forth from the restaurant to our room.

The view from our room (#11) was unbelievable. We had a full window wall that provided a jaw-dropping view of the volcano. Impressive!!! It was very convenient being adjacent to Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges Park. There are no restaurants at the Lodge but the neighboring hotel has a very nice restaurant which is just a very short drive down the hill. Breakfast, which is included, is also at this restaurant and is very good. The drive into LaFortuna is about 15-20 minutes or so. Highly recommend if you don't mind being outside of LaFortuna.

Such a beautiful setting. The view from the shower and bedroom is extraordinary! It is up a steep windy road across from Mistico. It was perfect for us to stay there and go to Mistico first thing in the morning. It is far from town but closer to the volcano and hot springs. The breakfast is down a steep hill that requires driving (or their shuttle) and was a good buffet.

The property is located out of town, across the parking lot from Mystico - the bridges place. The cabins are beautiful, with lovely views of the volcano. Good bird watching from your balcony in the morning and evening. A comment about the staff: I left a battery charger, and the staff was very helpful and patient in packing it up and sending it on to another lodge we were to stay at towards the end of our trip.

Absolutely stunning!!! The room is beautiful and comfortable. The location can’t be beat. Serene surroundings of rainforest with a volcano view. If you’re looking to be in the center of action - this is not it! If you’re looking for serenity in a breathtaking setting - this is it! Sitting on the porch with some coffee and watching the scenery was one of my top favorite moments in costa rica!

Best hotel out of 3 we stayed with!

This was an excellent location to stay at, we had so much wildlife around, it was incredible. The Coati's were around our porch regularly and we could book all excursions at a competitive rate directly with the front desk staff who were incredibly helpful. We were able to get into Mistico bridges when they opened and beat the rush without feeling hassled to gather the family which was priceless. Complementary breakfast was directly across the street at La Roca Bistro or Blue Hibiscus down the way, they even put together a breakfast box for us when we were scheduled to be picked up for an excursion at 7am and couldn't make it to the restaurant. Would highly recommend, there is nothing that could have made our trip better!

Beautiful location, clean, quiet, and safe. Terrific staff. We loved the fresh coconut water upon arrival, and mini bar was well priced. Breakfast down the road at Blue Hibiscus was terrific and we saw lots of birds and coatis in the area. We would definitely stay here again. Partner and I both wished we'd planned for a bit more down time to sit out on the balcony and enjoy the view during the day (morning and evening were quite cloudy). We really appreciated the effort made to reduce bird window strikes by placing bird silhouettes on the windows, however there might be more effective options like paracord or reflective film. (We unfortunately found a dead bird on our balcony before we left, not sure how common that is though.)

This lodge is like stepping into an episode of National Geographic! We had so many birds, monkeys, and coatimundis around us at different points during the day. I was a little concerned about traffic noise since it's close to Mistico but that was never an issue. All of the staff went out of their way to make sure we were well cared for but Lui and Francisco really made it special. Breakfast at the Blue Hibiscus was delicious and in such a gorgeous setting! You're right next to Mistico Hanging Bridges so make sure you get a reservation for that and the Arenal National Park and Arenal 1968 hiking trails are just a short distance. The drive to La Fortuna is breathtaking also! The lodge provided everything we needed and the only reason I gave them a 4/5 on ecofriendliness is because of the travel sized toiletries that were in plastic. They even had large umbrellas for us to use! They also helped us ordering meals to be delivered when we were too exhaustd to go back out to eat. If you're looking for privacy while being surrounded by everything the rainforest has to offer then this is your spot! I honestly wish I could buy our bungalow and just live there forever. Waking up with the Arenal Volcano right in front of you as birds and Howler monkeys call out is just magical. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this to anyone wanting to get away from the tourist crowds and experience the natural side of Costa Rica. Pura vida!!
