Staff and property are perfect for the area. The room was clean with a well equipped kitchen. The resort is a bit secluded from the already small secluded town of Hanalei. They do offer a shuttle service into town and back if needed. We loved our experience there and would stay at the resort again.

Best kept secret in the north! Great low key resort ON the beach. Gorgeous grounds and spacious, clean rooms. Also on the grounds are a coffe shop/art gallery and restaurant. Great location north of Hanalei town- feels remote but a short free resort shuttle ride available to town, Tunnels beach or Haena beach park. Great staff- we will be back!

Our room got upgraded to the ocean view room because it was our anniversary, and it was absolutely amazing! I love waking up to the sound of waves and the view of the ocean, and the room itself was so big and spacious, and it included its own kitchen. The front desk people were also so helpful and recommended a lot of attractions to us, which I absolutely appreciate. I would definitely come back here if I were coming back to visit Kauai.

Best location

Location location. North shore Kauai is our favorite area in all of Hawai’i and Hanalei colony resort s the best spot. Quiet, green and lush and the beautiful water steps away. The condo is spacious and comfortably furnished. The staff are personable, happy to help and the shuttle service is a huge bonus. Shuttling to our favorite beach of tunnels was so easy as there is very limited parking. Can’t wait to come back.

This is old Hawaii. No AC, no TVs. Just a beautiful location right on the (unswimable) beach. It rained on and off 'cuz this is Kauai after all and the rainy side of the island. I added an extra night to our stay and was sad when we had to leave.

I found the 9th wonder of the world at the Hanalei Colony Resort. I took advantage of the Hanalei Day Spa and i got 7 massages during my 2 week stay at the HCR resort. The therapists have world class teqniques and the beachside deep tissue massage was truly a treat. I had the privilege of meeting the s owner of the Hanalei Day Spa, Darci, and her daughter Chelsea who runs the front desk operations there.

Lovely setting and charming units. We had a brief two night stay. Plans for our one full day we’re disrupted a bit by the requirement that we appear at the office between 9 and 10 to complete checkin which could not occur the evening we arrived since we didn’t arrive until 5:30 when the office was closed. “Island time” I know. But we had planned an early start to our activities for the day so this was a bit disappointing.

Hanalei es espectacular. El hotel es mas un airbnb "self-service" q un resort/hotel. No tiene AC y hay q sacar la basura personalmente y el servicio de limpieza es cada 3/4 dias. El hotel tiene mucho sabor local y hay areas que tienen unas vistas increíbles. No hay restaurante. Premium Ocenview resultó ser una habitación en la parte de atras ya que no era Oceanfront...definitivamente eso no lo esperaba. La pasamos muy bien y esta muy cerca de una playas espectaculares!

We had an ocean view condominium, and the views of the ocean were amazing from every window. We slept wonderfully listening to the sound of the ocean. The complex is peaceful and quiet, just the sound of the ocean. There is a full kitchen. Although we should have been informed that the restaurant on site was closed.

Spectacular location. This place is not for everyone. It's miles from restaurants, shopping, television. But what it does have, it has in spades. It's on the ocean, close to some of the worlds finest beaches. Beauty abounds. It has wifi, a pool, laundry and a staff that cares. It also has a shuttle that can get you to restaurants and shopping. Guests return for generations. Not my first time.
