Room was average, could do with updating but had most things you need! Room was clean and staff were nice. No bedside tables or sockets near the bed but we managed. Rooms could do with updating as a little tatty but good for price. Only issue the window did not shut properly so was a draught

Very pleasant welcome. Room clean but wardrobe disappointing and smell in bathroom otherwise nice room. Enjoyed a beer in the garden at night! Great breakfast! Bit disappointing when checking out as waited 5 minutes and no staff appeared! As we didn’t need to settle any bill I just left the key on the counter.

Would say the staff were friendly. Room could have been cleaner, not to say it was bad. The shower was either on the quite warm side or very hot, couldn't get it to run cool. As it was a one night stop over it wasn't too bad. For a longer stay would want a properly functioning shower.

Nice quintasential old english hotel ... but in need of beautification and retro-fit of basics like air conditioning. Hotel layout was like a maze from multiple additions over the decades. Nice location and relaxing garden for a quiet drink. We arrived over a bank holiday weekend and unfortunatel only two staff were on with the others having not turned up for work. The two staff members were overworked but stayed friendly and very helpful. Needs some basic maintenace (paint peeling) but very nice in bar, restraunt and lounge. Really enoyed out stay.

We have stayed a few times on the last 2 years. The hotel is well worth the money they charge and the staff can't do enough for you.

Whilst the room could have done with a little update - fraying carpets and old furniture being held up with paper underneath the legs - it was an amazing experience. The hotel has an old period charm and sits perfectly in the Ditton Village area. I did not have an opportunity to try the breakfast, but hopefully next time I can. A really lovely stay and very polite, helpful staff.

6/10 Good

Good bit: Staff were pleasant and helpful when dealing with them. Hotel was nice and quiet when I stayed. Bar area was in use by multiple groups and a nice atmosphere. The front of the outside looked nice had character. I didnt eat but breakfast smelt nice in the reception area. Issues: was originally in 217 and had no hot water from the shower only cold. Carpet needed a hoover and the decor was very old fashioned (not deliberately). Asked to be moved and was changed to room 7. Carpet again needed hoovering and looked hairy in patches. Bathroom needed TLC. Finish on plastering was inconsistent Overall an ok experience, if you want a cheap hotel (which is what i was looking for) then its fine. But dont expect too much. Priced accordingly but I still thought things like the hot water shouldnt be an issue. Staff very friendly and tried to help when I asked to move rooms.
