Although we were informed of construction before booking, the extent was far greater than anticipated. The entrance was difficult to navigate, had several tripping hazards, and almost appeared closed.
The front desk staff were polite and welcoming, but we ultimately decided not to stay. Beyond the extensive construction, several individuals who did not appear to be guests were congregating outside, some appearing intoxicated. While unloading our luggage, my husband was approached about illegal activity in the parking lot. At that point, neither of us felt comfortable or safe staying there, particularly at night. The hotel’s shared driveway with a liquor store added to our concerns.
Unfortunately, obtaining a refund proved impossible. Despite contacting the hotel, booking platform, and multiple representatives, we were repeatedly redirected without resolution. We never received a refund, apparently because our reservation was prepaid.
We booked another nearby hotel with comparable ratings for approximately $30 more per night and had an excellent, trouble-free stay.
While I appreciate the kindness of the staff, the safety concerns, construction conditions, and frustrating refund experience made this extremely disappointing. Since we left shortly after check-in, I cannot comment on the rooms or breakfast. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this property.
