Our second time staying at the Thunderbird. It’s nothing crazy fancy, but it’s super kitschy, clean, comfy and the staff are super friendly. We will continue to stay here during future trips to Savannah as well. Highly recommend!

I so wanted to love this place. People are fantastic and so many cute & retro touches. Free coffee/doughnuts/lemonade... dog friendly all great things! Location across from the bus stop not great but totally fine. "Bare bones" in terms of funishings etc, also no problem. But the quality of linens still was quite poor , scratchy. Stains on sheets and towels. Shower totally flooded the bathroom, we didn't use it again. AC unit was disgusting with probably black mold. Fridge was so noisey! Walls are super thin. Remote didnt work. Corners of bathroom really beat up as are doors ... it really really needs some TLC.

I booked the Thunderbird for the vintage vibe, the location, and because I was traveling with my dog. I love the concept, the morning donuts, and the fenced dog area. I was surprised about the condition, from steps to the 2nd floor rooms in disrepair to gaps in the room flooring and torn fabric on chairs. I've been to many cities as a solo female traveler and am comfortable walking several miles a day. Based on what I saw around the motel, I was not comfortable walking to get dinner so I drove. That Friday evening and then Saturday morning there was yelling and loud conversations from the Greyhound bus station across the street.
