I was really impressed with the patience of the receptionist. She was with a client who just was a needy one and she gently guided him through the process. I hesitated to provide this review as my stay had some frustrating moments. It wasn't terrible and there were lots of good things about the hotel. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was very good. But when I arrived there were men's clothes in my closet. That tells me that housekeeping never opened that closet between guests. My bathroom, definitely had clean towels etc, but had no shower gel. None. If hotels are going to use the refillable bottles rather than individual travel sizes, then they need to make sure those are full when each guest checks in. No one wants to have to exit the shower wet and shimmy on the bathmat across the room to put hand soap on the washcloth. That's just distressing and uncomfortable. Lastly, housekeeping staff entered my room without knocking. I had just arrived back to the room and had just finished changing clothes, when I heard the door open. Thinking it was my husband, I went toward the door and found housekeeping. She apologized and asked if I had asked for daily service, then said they must have given her the wrong room number. In any case, if housekeeping is entering the room for a guest that hasn't checked out, they should knock to see if the room is occupied. It's these kinds of little things that turn a great stay into just an OK stay. (And probably for particular guests, a never again stay.)
