The Russel is a newly refurbished heritage hotel above the oldest bar in Sydney, Fortune of War. There are many stairs. It was somewhat like a maze! There is a lift to the second floor but you will still have to take a few stairs. We selected a room with a bathroom. It was spacious and lovely. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the sheets were very good. The free breakfast was delicious! The menu had many options. I would highly recommend this hotel. The location was close to the train, the ferries and the Sydney Opera House.

We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this hotel. The location was excellent, making it easy to explore Sydney and access everything we needed. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We arrived earlier than expected, and the receptionist kindly arranged for our room to be serviced as a priority so we could check in as soon as possible, which was greatly appreciated. The restaurant downstairs was also excellent, with great food and a fabulous breakfast to start the day. Overall, the service, facilities, and location exceeded our expectations. We will definitely stay here again the next time we're in Sydney.
