Bournemouth massive thumbs up!

Fantastic weather really did make this trip! Felt like we were abroad! Hotel really good location with a short walk you get to the pier and town. Hotel rooms get quite warm at night but fans are provided.

I saw lots of negative reviews for this hotel so was very nervous about booking but we’d been let down at the last minute with the accommodation we’d booked for our weekend away so booked the Ocean hotel and hoped for the best! I have to say I was so pleasantly surprised, yes the outside is a bit tired but the reception and bar area are lovely, the staff are friendly and helpful and the room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, it had everything we needed, even a fan and heater in the wardrobe for hot/cold weather, beds were really comfortable and it was much quieter than I expected it to be, we had a stunning sea view too, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again

Fantastic location and lovely staff. Breakfast was delicious and pool a bonus in the warm sunshine. Only issue was how hot the room was bit we addressed it at reception and they did their best to accommodate us.

Not the best experience by far!!

The bed was very uncomfortable, very firm and uneven. Mattress was very dirty. Seems like every floor board is broken, causing noise from upstairs bedrooms till early hours of the morning. Limited on site parking.

A great experience.

Excellent reception staff very professional and extremly helpful. All staff were very polite and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Very well run and would definitely stay again. The dinner in the evening was fantastic and breakfast was just what we needed to start the day. A great experience.

Probably wouldn’t stay again!

We were told on leaving that we had received an upgrade room. The room was on the 4th floor and without air con, it was like staying in a sauna, considering the extreme temperatures experienced during our stay. We also had to pay for onsite parking at £12.00 per night, this did not guarantee a parking space! costing us an additional £36.00. I informed the hotel before arrival that my wife has a gluten-free diet but all that was provided was some gluten free bread! No gluten free cereal was available for breakfast!

Overall a comfortable stay for the price

Hotel overall was nice with kind, friendly staff. The main areas were well kept. However I can see why it is only 3 star as the rooms could do with a bit of an upgrade. The shower wasn't amazing and the hot tap in my bathroom was missing part of it. For the price though it was an overall comfortable stay and I would visit again. Hopefully the hotel spa will be open then instead of having to use the neighbouring one- it was closed the weekend of my stay

Terrible

Bedroom wasn’t particularly clean . All the doors were hanging off the drawers . Wall paper hanging off the wall . Doors banging all weekend no one had any consideration . Didn’t see a cleaner or maid all weekend . The swimming pool has scum across the top and the pool area was never checked during the day . The plastic empty glasses and cans blew about all day and for hours there were unattended towels on the sun beds which no body delt with. The inclusive evening meal was extremely limited with around 3/4 choices per main . The chicken was over cooked . The roast potatoes had been reheated and frozen veg wasn’t even cooked and still hard . We wanted to extend our stay for a few hours on the day we checked by parking our car on the onsite car park but the main behind reception admitted he didn’t want to help us with free parking even though we were paying guests for the weekend and the proceeded to charge us for a another couple of hours . Avoid hotel , the photos are old .

Initial check in was slow and unpleasant with nothing explained so our stay started poorly Despite this we had a comfortable stay and the bed was good but the property needs some overall work on creaky floorboards that mean you can hear movement on all floors and general plumbing as you can hear toilets flushing throughout the property which also cause showers to drip in the middle of the night We enjoyed the outdoor pool and although we didn’t stay for breakfast it looked lovely. There’s is also a well stocked on site bar Overall a pleasant stay just expect a difficult time finding parking and a difficult check in
