The perfect location to explore Guangzhou! We loved this area with amazing shopping just outside the door and a short walk to Shamian Island. We were surprised how peaceful, clean and quiet this part of the city was and it was the perfect location for a holiday with kids- we had a 2 year old. We spent day going into the middle of the newer part of the city and much preferred staying where we did at Voco. The rooftop pool was great as well as the gym and the buffet breakfast was spectacular. The staff were so lovely and so good with our toddler. Room was huge and a comfortable portacot was provided. Guangzhou was the perfect 4 day stopover on our way from NZ to Europe and we definitely want to come back for a couple of weeks next time!

Hotel does not look much from the outside but internally, especially the rooms are well renovated and comfortable. The location is right next to the old walking street and the old part of Guangzhou, full of characters. It is located within walking distance to 永庆坊 and Shamien Island. Also quite near the subway, Cultural Park.

Service from the staff was top-notch, everyone we dealt with was friendly and helpful. Special mention to: lady at check-in desk was very helpful and patient, room service staff paid great attention to detail. Self-service laundry is appreciated - however the payment system only works for locals (even though we had an Alipay account set up), so this could be improved. Also, the armchair/sofa in our rooms were stained and probably should be properly steam cleaned or even re-upholstered for a hotel of this price.
