The check in was quick and easy, though I was disappointed in the 10$ a night parking fee. The beds were too soft for our liking but otherwise the rooms were comfortable and clean. I would book again for our next trip.

Great place to stay next to coast.

I've stayed here several times & the Spyglass is just above the beach but it is above a bluff so you need to walk to the beach below. Great sunsets. Spyglass Inn is central to Five Cities area, San Luis Obispo & Santa Maria area so you can access highway 101 to any locations easily. The Spyglass inn restaurant is closed & being re-modeled now as the original owners retired in November 2024 so new owner & the reopening at a unknown date as of October 9, 2025. I highly recommend Spyglass Inn for any stays in the Pismo Beach & Central Coast Area.

Pets are an extra $40 charge and they have special rooms for pets on the lower floor with a slider. The carpets were old but it smelled fresh

Lovely Older Hotel with Amazing Beach Access

Front desk check in was friendly and prompt. they let us in early. the beds were too soft as my daughter and I both have bad backs and need a firmer bed. The patio (for our dog) was a disappointment because we had to keep her leashed as it was open to the outside and had gap under wall between units. But the place is awesome and close to the beach with the fire pits. Watched the sunset and took dog for walk to neighboring hotel with dog friendly patio for a bite. I would stay again due to location.

Very convenient location right off the highway, with spectacular views of ocean by the ocean view rooms. The staff are very friendly and I would definitely recommend staying here, especially the ocean view rooms.
