First of all, when you walk in, you have to walk through the gauntlet of security doors. The place presents as this nice, upscale hotel experience, but just to get in the door (after dark, not sure what time they close the doors) you have to wait in a holding cell to be buzzed in.
Next, getting to the room, the elevator was… well, it was working, but…. It kinda had a mind of its own? I was on floor 3, and I watched on the ground floor as it came down to 2, went up, came down to 2, went back up, stopped at 2 again, then, finally, to 1. I got on - by myself in the elevator - pressed 3, it went up, stopped, doors opened, I stepped off and just in time to miss the doors closing, realized that I was on the second floor.
But those are quibbles. The elevator performed its function, barely, and there are those who feel much safer with a gauntlet of draconian security doors. The thing that was egregious and made me pack up and leave was that the WiFi was not working with my computer. I asked about the WiFi at the front desk when I checked in, because I had an important zoom meeting in the morning and wanted to be sure I could connect. But when I got to the room, it didn’t work. When I called the front desk, the desk clerk said that he could do nothing BUT the IT guy would be there in the morning. I could not risk waiting, I needed to be sure I could connect, so I went to another hotel.
