The place is in a peaceful and beautiful setting. The lodge is definitely showing its age but still a nice place to stay. We did have to ask for more coffee supplies for the next morning but service was prompt. We took the boat trip with Chester and he was a great tour guide and provided so much information about the area. Would recommend this place if you want a tranquil getaway!

Our chalet was badly in need of a renovation. Electrical outlets and power strips needed replacing. However, the location was just awesome…right by the falls so the river was very pretty. Staff and food at the restaurant were great! Many amenities for the outdoor enthusiast but we didn’t have time to use them, unfortunately.

The hotel has a lot of great amenities: free bikes and kayaks, an indoor pool, a sports court, and a small farm with animals. However, there are a lot of mosquitoes and black flies. The shared kitchen has no window for ventilation, and the sink is way too small—it’s practically impossible to wash dishes.

We like the beautiful surroundings, the historic Cottage and River Lodge . We like that there were amenities like a swimming pool and a hot tub, shuffleboard and other outdoor activities. We were pleased that it had Wi-Fi in all the cottages and had moved away from wood-burning fireplaces too electric. We did notice, however, there was a lot of opportunity for cosmetic upgrades in the Cottage that we stayed in. The most significant piece was that the screen door on Cottage number four was in fact, not there other than that we were very comfortable and had a wonderful one night stay

We selected this resort for all the amenities which turned out to be a tremendous disappointment. The Staff and owner are good people but they are not able to keep up with the amount of maintenance and damage that families with children make on the property. We came to for the peace and quiet, the kayaks, canoes and fishing polls. Of which 1 poll was somewhat working out of 10 that they started their season with. That was a poor excuse. The kayaks and canoes were under constant repair and not recommended to use. The spa and hot tub seemed safe, but my 25 year old daughter ended up with a rash from sitting in the spa tub. The next day the spa tub was dark brown, and they had to close it (obviously). Overall the pool looked green but didn't think about it until we were at another resort a day later. Simple things like finding a ping pong ball - we searched and finally found one, all others damaged, no replacement supplies. The room was clean and the location is very peaceful. We really like the people, but they have got to hold customers accountable or they will not be able to sustain their business. Feeling a bit sympathetic to their problems, we ate dinner in their dining room. We were excited to order their special - Fish Cakes - they looked wonderful, until we realized it was 95% mashed potato, $25 - for 2 potato balls. The small portion of asparagus was tasty. We wish them well. But it if they don't run it like a resort, they will fail.

A country lodge. Popular with Tauck tours. Chefs in the kitchen were a highlight with good flavor and fresh ingredients. Good hiking on trails leading from the lodge. Indoor pool and dock for canoes, etc. offers a harbor tour by pontoon but engine was out of order.
