Overall, this is hotel is an exceptional value. The property is well cared for and the room was clean and surprisingly large. The gentleman who checked me and who I also spoke with the morning I checked out was very helpful and friendly. The room I stayed in was in the back of the property which was great because it was not on the main road, rather a very quiet residential street that parallels the main road. The days I stayed, the hotel seemed to be mostly empty, with no more than 2-3 other rooms occupied so there was zero noise from other guests too. Overall the area seems to be very safe. However, the reason I took off a star are safety related. I am a woman and was traveling alone for work. I didn't realize when I made the reservation this was a motel style place with each room having its own door to the outside. I don't believe this was misrepresented, I'm sure it was my miss. The door did not have a second latch at the top like most hotel rooms do and it had 3 windows, all of which opened and none of them were locked when I first checked in. When I first arrived, it was dark and none of the outside lights were on yet. I had to use my car headlights to find my room. The lights came on shortly after so I think it was just a matter of adjusting the timer as the days grow shorter. I would stay here in the future only if traveling with my husband.
