The location is definitely this hotel's biggest selling point. There are plenty of cafés, restaurants and shops nearby, so you'll never be short of somewhere to eat or grab a coffee. Getting around the city is easy too. That said, I found the hotel a bit disappointing for the price. I appreciate that Sydney isn't a cheap city, but the rooms felt quite dated and worn. It's not terrible by any means, but the overall standard didn't really match what I was paying. I'd say it's decent value compared with other Sydney hotels, but only just. Would I stay here again? Probably not.

Unfortunately, this is not a 4 star hotel, it's a 2 star at best. There should be minimum expectations upon arriving at a hotel and being welcomed by the following shouldn't be any of them in our 'deluxe' room: blood on bathroom wall (maintenance staff had to don gloves to clean); bath so old it had started to disintegrate leaving a very uncomfortable standing position; kettle so old it had rusted, leaving rusty flakes to be enjoyed with your tea; general unpleasant smell both in room and in foyer of hotel; safe not working; bathroom cleanliness was an absolute disgrace and hair dryer was truely awful, blowing room temp hair. The saving grace were a helpful reception staff, who were kind to allow us to check in early and who were concerned at our issues raised. The maintenance staff were also super helpful and friendly and were able to help with alot of the above (bath mat provided for bath, blood cleaned off, new kettle provided and safe mended, quickly). We were after a few hours offered another room by reception but it was smaller than one we had paid for and we were past tired at this stage (travelled for 24hours at this stage). This is a budget hotel in a poor and tired state. Fine for a cheap bed and shower, don't expect anything else.
