Hotel is going through some renovations, but other than that I would highly recommend staying here! Literally only about 5-10 min walk to the Pier in such a beautiful area as well! Beds were super comfy!

I enjoyed the stay for the price and knew it would be a safe space for the kids. Toward the end of the stay, my daughter ended up with a flea in her hair. I know this is a dog friendly hotel but didnt expect this! I thought it was something else when I pulled it out of her hair and as I inspected, it jumped off me.Then, I woke up with 6 bites on my feet and body. This was my biggest concern during my stay

Easy walk across the street to the beach. Ventura Beach has a several mile paved walkway along the beach with great dining options at either end. This hotel reminds me of an old time beach hotel - large, comfortable room with balcony, good-sized bathroom, refrigerator, microwave, and large TV with lots of channels. It is a perfect vacation spot.

We knowingly stayed in a part of the property that is older, but has a view of the ocean and the freeway. The room was clean and very functional, without the annoyance of an HVAC that turns itself off during the night. The worst item was the mediocre breakfast.

I have always loved the location and the grounds but the ongoing rennovations do impact the ambiance negatively. As for cleanliness, I found some ants in the room, otherwise it was fairly clean. The room was nice and comfortable but the TV reception was very annoying, very poor! If the negative conditions improve, I would love to come back.

The photos posted on the website do not reflect the rooms at the hotel. The first room suite smelled like a dead body. The second room was not clean. The sheets and blankets on the bed were not clean. I would not recommend this establishment!
