During our recent stay, l would like to give thanks to the exceptional customer service provided by the check-in staff. They truly went above and beyond for my family. However, I must express my disappointment with several aspects of the hotel.
Having stayed here four times over the last three years, I've noticed a decline in quality. The hotel, dating back to the 1900s, has its charm, but unfortunately, the amenities need attention as you do not get the value of what is cost to book there.
Our room had a musty smell, the refrigerator was not functioning, and the beds were quite firm. The carpets were visibly dirty and stained, and the blankets and sheets had an unpleasant odor, reminiscent of dampness or mildew.
While the room offered a partial view of the water, it was mostly of the freeway, which detracted from the experience. The included breakfast, which used to be decent, was incredibly disappointing this time around. We encountered powdered eggs, microwaved bacon, and orange juice that had an unusual color. After our first breakfast, we chose not to return for the remainder of our stay.
I hope the hotel management takes note of these issues and works on improvements because the potential for a great experience is still there.
