Nice hotel which I found really quiet at night. A good location for getting the Airport Bus and walking to the hotel. Everywhere worth seeing in central Madrid is walkable from the hotel. And what a beautiful city it is. Whilst the royal palace is the main attraction and well worth booking a tour round, the city itself is really enjoyable to wander around looking at the lovely buildings that are beautifully painted with decorative art and spend time in the many gorgeous plazas. The only downside of this location is the hill you have to walk up to reach the city centre, but if you're fit it's not a problem!

Great place to stay in the art triangle in Madrid. Close to Metro stations, art museums, Parque de el Retiro, Jardin Botanico, and a reasonable walk to the Plaza Mayor. Nice coffee shops in the area, too. Hotel was clean, quiet, and staff was very helpful with restaurant reservations and getting taxis. Not a fancy place, but reasonably priced and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

Amazing Stay – Can’t Wait to Come Back! From the moment I walked in to check in until the moment I checked out, the staff was absolutely amazing. I had tons of questions about the city and getting around, and everyone was incredibly friendly, patient, and helpful. Their recommendations made exploring so much easier! My room was spotless, and housekeeping did a fantastic job throughout my stay. The amenities were great as well — everything I needed was right there. The location couldn’t have been better. Room and entire hotel were spotlessly clean. Staff very attentive: we had a drain clog in our shower late at night and they moved us efficiently to another room. Location is perfect for Madrid museum visits -- directly across the Paseo from the Prado and 5-10 minute walks to the Thyssen and Reina Sophia. Lots of great restaurants within a 5-10 minute radius.

Great Location!

Hotel location is good. Reception staff were helpful. The only discomfort is the soundproof of the room. The opening and closing of the guest door next to your room can be heard clearly, including drawing of the curtain, etc. These sounds were so clear and close that could give you a fright even when you were already asleep. However, after one or twice experiencing such sound, you should be able to overcome it and able to sleep well for the rest of the nights. This soundproof problem is quite norm for many hotels. Anyway, overall, I enjoyed my stay at Mercure Madrid Centro.
