This is a great place to stay. It is a residential lovely area in Paddington/Wollahra area very close to centennial park and with many lovely local cafes/restaurants. I will always book this hotel when in Sydney. The breakfast was awesome and the coffee just great. You really feel like a local here. You can explore a local Sydney in this area and still have access to public transportation meters away. The house is lovely.

My 2nd stay at this unique old mansion that's been converted into a comfortable hotel. This time my room was very compact BUT it had all I needed for a short stay. Excellent location, and breakfast included. Very comfortable bed and good bathroom, all scrupulously clean. I wish there was a lift but staff always willing to help with luggage. I thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Staff extremely friendly & welcoming. Breakfast terrific value, convenient, sufficient choices & has gluten free options. Barista great….. good coffee a must in the morning😀 Location brilliant & close proximity to public transport, shops , restaurants. Premise old however fairly maintained so as not to look tired. We & friends who stayed there will certainly be returning.

Easy walking distance from bus stop and some food shops nearby, friendly check-in, nice clean room, free breakfast but bed mattress was soft and curved a little bit and breakfast took 30mins as at the 20min mark, had to chase them up (others received their order who ordered way after us). All the breakfast was is a ham and cheese croissant, two pieces of toast with jam and a cup of tea and cuppachino. Also, you have a security code for gate and main common area (front door) bu some rooms are accessible from the carpark where others are behind a locked door on the other side. Find this a little bit bizarre. A little bit noisy sound coming from the footpath and carpark through the top of the window and curtains don't really do there job at night to make the room dark.

A rambling old 1870's house. Connected by narrow stairs. Random corridors and turns to a collection of randomly located rooms. Everything in here is old, worn, tired, dusty, run down, almost broken, Yet the beds are new and lovely. The rooms are appointed with a good and good value minibar, crisp fluffy linen and towels. Quality toiletries. And a continental breakfast in the courtyard cafe is included. Wander around and pop in to random terraces, lounge area, side rooms with sofas in the sun to read a book. Best description is a stay at granddads estate that hasn't had servant's for a couple of decades . Would I stay here again? Actually yes. Its strangely charming, very peaceful, beautifully quiet at night. And priced accordingly. But yeah. Dont expect anything fancy or modern or too well looked after.
