Would never stay here again. Didn't feel safe, no radiators in room. Every thing about it was old and in poor condition. Stains on bathroom mirror, wasn't cleaned. Great location, a lot of dining options in the area and easy access to public transport. The room was clean though the property is a bit old. The key to the room was an actual key chained to a big block, and we only got one copy. All the other hotels typically gave us card keys. One morning someone we don’t know unlocked and entered our room, and then left. We asked the reception desk who it was (probably cleaning service?) but couldn’t get a clear answer.

Desk staff very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the toilet was very dirty with poop stains from the previous occupant. Tried to clean it but to no avail. As our flight was delayed and we were very late we just wanted to sleep so didn't alert desk staff. The doors on our corridor were banging whenever another guest exited their room. Cleaning took place in other rooms in our corridor quite early in the morning- so no chance of a lie in.

I liked how close to one of the train stations it was. The staff was nice to talk to and the state of the room was fine, but like the breakfast I didn't interact with it much so I can't say much about it. The sleeping room was like a refitted home room with two beds scrunched together to make a very wide one. I appreciated the lockable separation of bathroom and sleeping space despite being alone. Showers worked well enough and heated up right away, and there is no air conditioner although the room is insulated well enough. I recommend bringing a fan you can plug in if you're going in the summer, but that goes for all German housing. It is close to the train station and a stop or two away from the main köln station to the Dom, or you can take the 14ish minute walk there. The outlets are all EU type. Make sure to bring two plugs and some cables, especially if you have many devices you want to charge. No room microwave, so do not expect to heat things up, but there are döner shops very close by late at night you can use instead of cup noodles or something. As far as I saw it's all street parking, so I recommend this place if you are exclusively taking the train. I'm sure you can find parking elsewhere, but it is what it is. Recommended for single or couples who want to get around köln and the surrounding areas easily by public transport and relatively close to the Dom at a reasonable price compared to other hotels in the inner city.

The property was a good location to everything and, it basic but good value. There was an issue with being given the wrong rooms when we first arrived which is not ideal after a long travel day, but the staff were helpful in sorting this out.
